Does Duncan Have One More Solid Year Left?

Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs have seemingly been deemed “too old” for the last five seasons. However, each year, they win at least 50 games and become a very tough out in the playoffs. Despite not winning a championship for a while, the Spurs are still a dangerous team. As far as fantasy basketball for cash is concerned, is Duncan still a dangerous individual player?

The days of Duncan being a top pick are over. They have actually been over for quite a while. The Spurs make sure to limit his minutes quite frequently during the season, so there is really no chance of an outburst or anything like that.

What fantasy basketball for cash owners need to keep an eye out for is his ability to produce each and every night. Just because he is no longer a superstar in the NBA does not mean that he is terrible. In fact, he is a productive player who can post great numbers for the limited minutes he plays in. Not only that, but he is very efficient with his shots and defense, leading to great fantasy basketball for cash statistics.

Users should consider drafting Duncan sometime in the middle rounds. He is still a solid big man who can rebound, score and block shots. Unfortunately, intangibles is not a category in fantasy. If it was, then he would be highly sought after by owners. Even at his advanced age, few big men have their way with Duncan down on the block.

If Duncan ends up staying healthy, expect big things from him this season. He might not be a star who ends up running and dunking over the entire NBA, but he knows how to hit mid-range shots and he knows how to play the game of basketball the correct way. That goes a long way at the end of the day.
